Unlike conventional boron nitride ceramics that are sintered from powders, PBN is produced via Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). In this process, gaseous precursors (such as boron trichloride and ammonia, or Borazine) decompose and deposit onto a heated substrate inside a vacuum furnace, forming a highly pure, dense, and anisotropic material.
